Home Remedies for Acne
Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate works as gentle exfoliate for the skin. It unplugs the pores, removes dead skin and helps get rid of acne. [ Read : Have Medication for Acnes at your Doorstep]
How to use:–
- Take 1 or 2 table spoon baking soda
- Add a little clean water to make a paste.
- Apply it on your acne and rinse it off after 15 minutes with cold water. Apply it twice a week.
(Don’t overdo this remedy)
Oatmeal is beneficial in reducing acne breakout because it cleanses your skin pores and absorbs excess oil. Plus, it exfoliates your skin.
How to use:-
- Mix one teaspoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon in a cup of cooked oatmeal.
- Rub this mixture over your skin.
- Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.
- Do this once or twice a week.
The acidic property of lemons can be very useful in treating adult acne . Lemon will clean out dirt that has accumulated in the pores and will harden the sebum. You can use it on your skin daily but if it is too drying then use it every two or three days.
How to use:-
- Rub a slice of lemon on the affected area and leave it for a few hours before rinsing your face with water.
- You can also mix lemon juice with rose water in equal amounts and use the solution to wash the affected area thoroughly.
Tea Tree Oil
Another popular natural remedies for acne is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil acts like an antiseptic and disinfects the pores.
In addition, it helps kill the bacteria that cause hormonal acne. Just apply one drop of tree tea oil to the affected area three times a day.
If the application of undiluted tea tree oil causes skin irritation, redness, or over drying then use tea tree oil diluted in water or mix it with aloevera gel and then apply.
Aloevera gel (Aloe Vera Acne) can be used with other things to fight acne, but it’s a good thing on its own as well. If it’s going to be used on its own, the best is to have a little aloe plant floating around in your house, otherwise a good gel that’s sold in stores may work as well-just do some research on which ones have the least amount of additives. Not only is the aloe soothing, it works as an anti-inflammatory, decreasing redness and swelling. It also has antibacterial properties.
How to use:-
Wash your face with water and pat dry. Using your fingertips or a Q-tip, apply the aloe directly to your problem areas.
